Confident gift giving comes easily when you trust your taste, and do your research!
The best gifts, the ones you give from the heart with complete confidence in your style, come from thoughtful, well-informed choices. After careful thought and scrutiny, I’m proud to gift my film-loving husband a sleek, high-performance laptop for movie viewing this Christmas. In collaboration with Intel, I’ll be giving him a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 15.6″ laptop powered by Intel® Core™ i7. While wrapping up his new computer, I couldn’t help but preview what film viewing will be like for him on it. In accordance with my research, I was thrilled to see that watching movies on the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is an incredible experience, thanks to the i7 core’s lightning-fast speed, premium power, and stunning visuals.
The one element I couldn’t predict while selecting this computer was the type of box it would be delivered in! I was concerned that conspicuous, logo-covered packaging could jeopardize my Christmas morning surprise. To my relief, the laptop arrived discretely in an un-marked brown box on our doorstep, where I intercepted it before Vikas might see it. Bubble-wrapped inside the brown exterior was the stylish, minimalist white box, with a small blue Dell logo, that the glossy grey laptop comes in. I plugged it in and pressed the power button, and it instantly fired up and prompted me to get started. I witnessed the incredible speed of the i7 core, immediately.
As a no-touch laptop user, I have to say, his laptop’s touch-screen ability makes so much sense. I easily opened up a browser and logged into our movie streaming account using the touch feature, and in doing so, I could again see the i7’s rapid responsiveness. I started watching a film right away with the computer in laptop mode, and was amazed at how the mode changed from laptop to tablet in a split-second as I folded the screen back. Using the touch screen, I was able to scroll through to specific scenes in the movie with tremendous speed and accuracy, a testament to the speed and premium power of the i7 core.
To fully explore my husband’s new computer, I watched scenes from 3 films that we’ve enjoyed several times before together: To Catch a Thief (1955), Laura (1944), and White Christmas (1954). As a movie buff, Vikas favors films from the 40s and 50s, which definitely demand high-definition screens to avoid coming across as hazy or poor in picture quality. I was so impressed by the clarity and sharpness of the i7’s ultra high-definition resolution, which features 4x more pixels than a full HD screen. The stunning visuals have an immersive effect that brings our favorite films to life like never before.
Needless to say, wrapping up my husband’s gift was far more fun than I could have expected. I was thrilled to see that thanks to the i7 core’s lightning-fast speed, premium power, and stunning visuals, watching movies on the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is as incredible an experience as my research indicated it would be. I was, honestly, captivated by films we’ve feasted on several times before, as though I was seeing them for the first time. I was excited about giving this laptop to my husband from the get-go, and now after trying it myself, I am confident that it’s a perfect gift for my movie lover.
